This is the only “real” lumber yard left around here. Michigan Lumber is most definitely not a box store or anything like one. This is a lumber yard that has been here for 100 years.There is a full service lumber yard with all types of building materials. There is also a lot of custom products and millwork services. Jump on the website for detailed information.The staff is exactly what you would expect, knowledgeable and years of experience.The trim and shiplap we purchased for our remodel was everything we had envisioned to add the detail we wanted.Go check them out, no orange aprons, I promise.

I've never been disappointed. Always fast, efficient, and reasonably priced. Better priced than competitors for the quality of product. Also, actually helpful compared to big box stores. Highly recommend.

I love going here. It’s tucked away in the heart of Flint, but once you are on the lot it feels like you just stepped into an old movie. The employees there are all very helpful. I needed a lot of wood cut and I was able to call in what I needed and drive up to pick it up. Always a lovely time here when I need something for a project.

The people here are incredibly helpful. I was purchasing some rough sawn cedar in 10' and 12' lengths but the inventory on those lengths weren't in the best shape. They actually cut down 16 footers for me. How many lumber yards would do that? I was sold and will be buying all my lumber from these guys. Top-notch operation. Thank you....A+A+A+

We have been doing there repairs for about 4 years now. Great people to deal with. They trust us when we call and tell them issues with there trucks and they tell us just to fix it. They don't complain about bills and are always wanting there truck repaired correctly, so there drivers are safe. That's why they call us. T & T Mobile Repair. Thk you guys and we look forward to many more years of a great working relationship.

EXCELLENT STAFF -- went into Michigan Lumber in Flint on the recommendation of a lumberyard employee of a local hardware store. I had a 130 year old bentwood sewing machine case that needed a piece of trim to match what was/is still on the case...the gentlemen in the sales store were PHENOMENAL! Not only did they recommend the wood to use for the trim, but walked us back to the mill, where am employee there made the wood to mirror EXACTLY the piece still on the sewing machine case!The staff was not only friendly, but knowledgable and went out of their way to accommodate us. Highly recommend this wonderful company...

Michigan Lumber.I appreciate your amazing staff and pricing on all your products. When I first called I didn't know what to expect from a company in flint but WOW!!!! The young man that answered the phone was very nice and helped me. Also when I cam in to the building the guy in the hat at the front counter was able to explain everything to me about my doors and windows I needed quoted. Everyone should shop at Michigan Lumber. 👍👍👍

This company has top notch customer service ! They communicate reliably and work hard to make sure your needs are met. Their prices are fair and their products are of high quality. They helped me purchase a 5 x 10 sheet of fir plywood , and even assisted with delivery. Amazing !

Excellent Lumber Yard! We were trying to match a molding that was already installed in our house 🏡. We took in a photo and dimensions. They let us leave with free samples. After getting home, we needed a slightly smaller molding. We went back, the salesman found the Molding for us and rang us up. Walked over to the pickup area. I was out in just a few minutes. He put a wrap around the two pieces so it would be more convenient for me to carry, then opened the door for me.

I have been going to this original Flint lumber yard since I was just a child. It hasn't changed in the 51 years I have been around. Friendly and absolutely the best at professional questions. Always willing to go the extra 9 yards to accommodate. None better for miles... No seconds, only quality. 5-16-2020 even during a crisis, they made sure we had our product. Thank you

The quality of the lumber far exceeds Home Depot for the same price. The staff also know their product much better. Additionally I have also never been sold defective or warped lumber here. It is an easy decision to shop here. I only wish they kept slightly longer hours.

Nice lumber co. Guys inside are really knowledgeable and have everything I need to build decks as a contractor. Will definitely be going back. Also love their deck boards. Better quality that Home Depot or them big box stores IMO. Has that mom and pop store feeling. We need more places like this👍

This lumber yard had the moldings, matching those in my house, that I had not been able to find in visiting 6 lumber stores prior. It was worth the drive. Thanks to the Carter Lumber guys for pointing this lumber gem out to me.
